Legal principles of the Hungarian data protection law

The right to freedom of expression

As an addition to the GDPR, Art 4 (5) of the Info Act states that processing personal data shall be deemed lawful and fair if the data subject is visited at his/her domicile or place of residence to express his/her opinion within the scope of exercising his/her right to freedom of expression.

The Info Act stipulates that data subjects’ personal data shall be processed in compliance with the Info Act and that contacting data subjects must not be intended for business purposes. Contacting data subjects is not permitted on legal holiday as determined by the Hungarian Labour Code.
