Art. 14 ZVOP-1 prescribes special measures for the protection of sensitive data. When being processed, sensitive data must be marked and protected so as to prevent unauthorised access. In transmission over telecommunications networks, sensitive data shall be considered suitably protected if cryptographic methods and electronic signatures are applied in a way ensuring illegibility and non-recognition of such data during transmission.
