Part 2 (Sections 9 to 27) of the Irish Data Protection Act establishes a Data Protection Commission to replace the Data Protection Commissioner as a State’s data-protection authority. Its primary task is to act as the supervisory authority for the GDPR and ePrivacy Directive.
