Processing of special categories of data and data relating to criminal offences for research purposes
Schedule 1 (4) allows for the processing of sensitive data for research purposes, if such processing is:
- necessary for archiving purposes, scientific or historical research purposes or statistical purposes
- carried out in accordance with Article 89(1) (appropriate safeguards) of the GDPR (as supplemented by section 19)
- in the public interest
