The Swedish Data Protection Act (DPA) does not impose any additional obligations to appoint a data-protection officer (DPO). However, the DPA does imposes an obligation of confidentiality on DPO, regarding information obtained by DPOs while performing their duties.
For DPOs in the public sector, the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act applies instead of the DPA.
